Small Business Software Guide exists for one reason: buying software for a small business is harder than it should be. Vendor sites all claim to be "easy" and "affordable," review giants rank whoever pays them most, and forum advice is five years out of date.

So we do the boring work ourselves. We sign up for the software, run it through realistic small-business workflows, track what it actually costs as you grow, and publish what we find — the good and the bad.

Our principles

Hands-on or it doesn't ship. We never review software we haven't used ourselves with a real account.

No pay-to-rank. Affiliate commissions fund the testing, but they don't buy placement or inflate scores.

Priced like you pay. We score pricing on what a 5–20 person business pays in year two, not the teaser first-year rate.
